Mr. Moosbrugger graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School with a Juris Doctor Degree in 1982. He tried his first jury trial while still in law school under the “Student Practice Rule” and won a favorable outcome for his client in Hennepin County District Court.
Mr. Moosbrugger has had a distinguished career in the field of Criminal Law. After starting in defense work in the metro area, he took a year-and-a-half position as an Assistant County Attorney. While there, he prosecuted a large volume of criminal cases and learned about criminal prosecution techniques. He sharpened his jury trial skills with trials on numerous felonies, gross misdemeanor DWIs, and other cases he tried during his tenure there. Then in 1985, he was offered a job with a noted criminal defense firm in St. Cloud and has worked in various positions in the criminal defense field ever since. In the positions he has held, he has defended hundreds of clients in criminal cases. He has tried jury cases for First Degree Murder and other degrees of homicide and attempted homicide against the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office and against county attorneys in Stearns and other central Minnesota counties. He has also tried jury cases for Criminal Sexual Conduct, Bank Robbery, Kidnapping, Felony and Misdemeanor Assault, Burglary, Theft, DWI, and many other felony and misdemeanor and traffic cases. Born and raised in Minnesota, he has practiced law in central Minnesota since 1984. He understands the people he works with and connects well with juries. During his career, Mr. Moosbrugger has mentored and supervised over 100 other criminal defense lawyers around central Minnesota. He has taught Continuing Legal Education courses to other criminal defense lawyers statewide. He participated in the development and operation of a state wide forensic trial team. He has been active in professional legal organizations and received the “Outstanding And Dedicated Service Award” from the Stearns/Benton Bar Association in 2007. |
